The Ross Hutchison Foundation

Founded in 2010 by the dazzling TV and stage icon Ross Hutchison, our not-for-profit raises funds, and provides opportunities for a multitude of local projects and charitable organisations in the Penrith community and beyond.

Delivering assistance, advice, and support without prejudice or judgement — the Ross Hutchison Foundation works tirelessly for the underprivileged, challenged, and troubled. Helping those who are in difficulties, in distress, and often with no recourse to governmental aid.

How the Ross Hutchison Foundation Began

It began, unsurprisingly, with Ross Hutchison!

Throughout his glitzy career, Ross ‘Rossco’ Hutchison has relentlessly strived to ensure that others benefit from his success — whether morally guiding preschoolers with the help of his friend Humphrey B. Bear, bringing hope and joy to seriously unwell children and adults in hospital, or passing on his knowledge and experience to young up-and-coming entertainers.

But most tangibly, by giving his time, energy, and money to helping those less fortunate. In short, Rossco has always looked out for others — with a helping hand, a kind word, and a loving heart.

So you could say, the Ross Hutchison Foundation, through the actions and altruism of Rossco, has always existed! However, by making our association formal in 2010, it gave this effervescent showman an opportunity to involve others and increase his fundraising activities.

And therefore most importantly, the ability to help even more people.

Over the last decade, the Foundation, Ross, and our invaluable team of tireless volunteers have together helped thousands of people in the most desperate of situations. Age, race, gender, sexual orientation, colour, personal circumstance, or disability are all irrelevant.

Who We Help

At the Ross Hutchison Foundation, we originally began our work with Penrith carer cars — assisting the mobility-challenged with both transport services and the supply of wheelchairs.

But soon, our Foundation quickly became the go-to source of assistance, help, and funds for many local projects and charities.

This includes:

  • Buy A Brick.
  • Penrith Community Kitchen.
  • The Red Cross.
  • Nordoff-Robbins.
  • The John Maclean Foundation.
  • Kids in Wheelchairs.
  • NAIDOC Disability Services.
  • Great Community Transport.
  • Little by Little Inc.
  • Barnardo’s Homes.
  • Nepean Food Services.
  • Diabetes Australia.
  • The Raging Rhinos.
  • NYAS Homeless Youth.
  • The Children’s Charity.
  • Penrith PCYC.

How You Can Get Involved!

Anyone, young or old, can get involved with us at the Ross Hutchison Foundation! You don’t have to be like Rossco and don a besequinned leotard, teach a cuddly animal to two-step, or perform in a glittering dancing troupe — well, unless you want to!

All you need is a big heart and a desire to help those who are in need. You can be as active or as backseat as you wish. Since our projects and assistance are so varied, there are a number of ways you can provide support to those less fortunate through the Foundation. These include:

We ensure that all generous support goes directly to those most in need and is not used in the running expenses of our Foundation. Our services, logistics, and administrations are all privately funded — with no cost to the government or council.

Furthermore, all financial gifts are tax-deductible, since the Ross Hutchison Foundation is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). We will happily provide a receipt for taxation records if required.
